SYNOPSIS

[EN] Paolo pays a visit to his mother, Lina. Amid jokes and heartfelt conversations, his desire to build a family with his girlfriend Laura emerges—despite the mounting pressures at work. Meanwhile, in the same neighborhood, Marco is caught in a complicated relationship with Sara. His choices, driven by a need to prove himself, pull him further into a world of shortcuts and shady dealings, alongside his friend Roberto. As Paolo navigates his daily routine, trying to balance professional ambitions with his love for Laura and the hope of making his mother proud, Marco becomes increasingly entangled in the criminal underworld. Tension builds when Marco and Roberto are assigned a job that leads them directly to Paolo’s shop. Unaware of the danger approaching, Paolo carries on with his day. Marco and Roberto, armed and dangerous, move toward their target. In a brutal moment—triggered by a tragic case of mistaken identity—Marco shoots an innocent man. Paolo is killed. The news of Paolo’s murder reaches Lina through a TV report, plunging her into unspeakable grief. While Lina mourns the loss of her son, Marco, Sara, and Roberto celebrate in a pizzeria. Between laughter and toasts, Marco proposes to Sara—grasping at a semblance of normalcy in a life steeped in violence. Paolo’s handycam, once used to capture joyful moments with Lina and Laura, becomes a haunting memory of all that was lost. The contrast between Paolo and Marco—the yearning for a normal life versus the lure of crime—unfolds in all its tragic depth. Their paths, though worlds apart, intertwine with fatal consequences.
