SYNOPSIS

[EN] Halima underwent surgery to reconstruct her vulva after female genital mutilation. On her journey home, she talks about her strategy on staying strong. It's a story about the impact of womens rights violations, everyday racism in Germany, being a refugee as a woman, but most of all of her strength. The participatory docu-fiction was created with five Somali women who suffered from FGM, as experts on their life and perspective, in screenwriting, on set and in post production.
