SYNOPSIS

[EN] On the harsh streets of Cape Town, Josi, a young mother, fights to survive with her two children: Idris, her soulful 12-year-old son, and Rose her baby girl. In a world that offers them little more than disdain, hunger, and wind, the trio navigates the fractured edges of society, street corners, shelters, and spaza shops, scraping by with grit and heart. When Idris begins hustling for money with his voice, a voice far older than his years he becomes both a lifeline and a quiet hero in their crumbling reality. But even his strength is tested when Josi spirals deeper into desperation. Told over the course of a single, breathless day and night, Josi & Rose is an intimate, unflinching portrait of survival & love.
