SYNOPSIS

[EN] Wei Ming has greatly anticipated his beloved adoptive paati (grandmother) Saroja’s presence at his wedding. When Saroja passes away unexpectedly with just a few days to go to his nuptials, Wei Ming is caught between grief, the rigidity of tradition and the disregard for his identity. Aching with sorrow and disappointment, he yearns to perform the customary last rites to honour her memory and pay his respects but faces strong objection given the traditions surrounding his upcoming marriage. A story that attempts to validate unconditional bonds forged beyond blood ties while highlighting social stigmas perpetuated over generations of traditions and culture, Wei Ming’s plight is a poignant look at the difficulty of traversing societal and cultural expectations, and the very human nature of love itself.
