SYNOPSIS

[EN] In a world where the prison space is often reduced to its sole function of confinement, “The city with no name” proposes an alternative, utopian vision. This cinematographic project questions the nature of belonging and human connection by imagining a meeting place that is neither defined by a cultural framework nor by the simple occupation of an enclosed space. Using the metaphor of a Russian doll, the film shifts the focus from the container - the prison - to its true heart: the inmates themselves, bearers of stories, memories and emotions. Can they be anything but prisoners? Can they, together, build a space that truly belongs to them? “The city with no name” is a poetic and introspective exploration of identity, memory and the meaning of community outside of imposed frameworks.
