SYNOPSIS

[EN] Angelo and Mariuccia have been married for 52 years and, despite of their constant bickering, they spend their days together marked by daily habits and small pleasures. Every morning, on the bench by the lake, they like to sit under the shade of a large tree to listen to the "serenades" sung by the mating cicadas. After lunch, on the other hand, Mariuccia always peels an orange for Angelo, who wishes to sip his coffee strictly in the same chipped cup, while his wife falls asleep by his side. Everything changes when Angelo passes away. Mariuccia sinks into a dark loneliness and her daughter Agnese, unable to be her caretaker, decides to place her in a nursing home. Mariuccia is in pieces but, just when she hits rock bottom, her love for Angelo gives her the strength to put the broken pieces ("COCCI" in Italian) back together.
