SYNOPSIS

[EN] “Sharpen” is a film portrait of Chung Man Keung, a cobbler, knife-sharpener and artist who earned his living under the awning of an herbal shop in Manhattan’s Chinatown. In this collaboration between Sonia Leimer and Eugenia Lai, Leimer composes a portrait of the deceased Chung with Lai’s images and words, creating an evocative and moving meditation on invisible lives and immigrant communities.
