[EN] Melvin is an emerging Hong Kong-Australian director who works in the spaces between fiction and non-fiction. Favouring long takes and a minimalist style, his works focuses on the minute details and rhythms of every day life. Since completing a Masters of Arts Screen: Documentary at the Australian Film Television and Radio School (AFTRS), Melvin continues to work on independent projects with a close group of cast and crew members. Carrying a small camera or camcorder wherever he goes, Melvin gleans images and details from his travels eventuating into short films or essay films. His works have been screened internationally with his film Call It Anything, which premiered at the Adelaide Film Festival, recently playing at Saint Tropez, France as a part of the Antipodean Film Festival.
