Shugo Fujii

BIOGRAPHIE

Originally from Tokyo, Japan. He started making films with his father's Super-8 camera when he was nine years old while performing as a child actor in Japan. At the age of 15, he went over to the United States to study film making and graduated with a Bachelor's degree from the California Institute of the Arts. Fujii made his feature film directional debut with "LIVING HELL" which was produced by one of the most famous producers in Japan named TSUNKU. His style is suspense and horror that always based on fear of human mind and social issues. His recent work “RED LINE CROSSING” had a long run hit at the theaters and was extended for three months and has been selected as the best year by the famous movie magazine KINEMA SHUNPO. “MIMICRY FREAKS”won Japan’s first Grand prix of the Asian category at the Brussels international Fantastic Film Festival. In addition, his activities are not limited to Japan, and he directs the Hong Kong movie "ON-PAKU" starring the popular Hong Kong actress Josie Ho. As one of the few Japanese directors who can direct in English, he has expanded his range of activities to Asia.
