Sugardoctor Film

BIOGRAPHIE

Eefje Suijkerbuijk and Koosje Docter form the female makers-duo Sugardoctor who together question all that is taken for granted nowadays. They write, direct and produce together. By means of personal stories, Sugardoctor slices and dices systems in our society and asks the question: what drama occurs when a woman tries to change the game or no longer participates in the big picture? Zooming in on hidden motives and unspoken feelings make stories with familiar uncomfortable situations and an awkwardly black sense of humor from a female perspective. They believe sometimes situations are so bitterly sad that laughing is a better option than bursting to tears. -- Koosje Docter is a writer, director and reputation advisor. She studied Media Studies (BA, MA) and Journalism (BA) at the University of Amsterdam. After a period with various broadcasters (BBC, RNW Media, VARA, AVRO, IKON, AT5), she switched to PR. In recent years she has advised politicians, lawyers, artists and board members on their reputation and formed their personal and professional stories in images and text. Now she focuses on her own stories. LinkedIn: linkedin.com/in/koosjedocter Eefje Suijkerbuijk is a screenwriter and director.
