BIOGRAPHIE

Bernadette Kolonko, *1985, studied photography at the Academy of Fine Arts, Leipzig and at the Zurich University of the Arts. After that she studied film directing and did her BA and MA at the Filmuniversität Babelsberg Konrad Wolf. Besides her realization of short films that have been screened internationally at festivals (including Palm Springs Short Fest), she also works as a caster for amateur actors, including the movie Western by Valeska Grisebach, Komplizen Film. From 2018 to 2021 she was a fellow at the Zurich University of the Arts, developing an artistic research project on feminist aesthetics in feature films. Since 2019 she has been a lecturer for feminist film work at different film universities and is involved in the field of gender & diversity in different feminist collectives.
