SYNOPSIS

Ismail left Côte d'Ivoire one night in 2017, without telling his parents. He was 14 years old. Five years later, having recently graduated with a vocational certificate in landscape gardening, he was preparing to visit his family for the first time during the school holidays. But as his departure approached, his anxiety grew: how could he tell his family about the perils of the Mediterranean, the small joys as well as the disappointments of life in France, when he had kept so much from them all these years? Words wouldn't be enough. He needed to show them.
