SYNOPSIS

In the bustle of downtown Athens, Eva drifts through the routines of laundrettes and beauty salons, haunted by a fleeting but unforgettable encounter with another woman years earlier. When she unexpectedly reunites with Niki, their connection reignites with an intensity that blurs tenderness and danger. Set within the charged, gendered space of a Greek nail salon, Hot Wax follows their hypnotic reunion as memory, desire, and vampirism intertwine. Directed by Krysianna Papadakis, Hot Wax was created by Pame Ligo Collective, the same filmmaking team behind BEARCAVE, a debut feature that premiered at Giornate degli Autori in Venice 2025, where it won the Europa Cinemas Label Award.
