SYNOPSIS

In the city of Lima, shrouded in dense, perpetual fog, every inhabitant must shed a part of themselves to survive: only one version can remain. The fragments of discarded identities become waste collected by scrap-children, who roam the streets as small gatherers of what is no longer useful. Amid this system, Medusa, a woman nearing forty, desperately seeks a place in the world. Her chance comes when a witch appears and promises her visibility: to be chosen as co-host of an absurd newscast that functions more as a surreal performance than a source of information. However, there is a price. To belong, Medusa must eliminate the other self dwelling within her—the repressed, honest version of herself. Waste is a dark, hybrid, dystopian fable about ambition, fragmented identity, and the cost of wanting to be seen in a system that only tolerates uniformity.
