Distance is Always Blue is a poetic, experimental exploration of the ending of an ambiguous relationship. Following Elisa alone, the film traces her journey of connection with the world around her, using nature, sound, and fragmented narrative forms—epistolary, stream of consciousness, and still imagery—as tools for self-discovery. Drawing from Latin American sensibilities and literature, the film weaves 16mm and medium format images into a sensory meditation on emotional codependency, disconnection, and the delicate process of healing.
