SYNOPSIS

The Day I Left My Home" is a short documentary told through the voices of two 12-year-old children—one from Rafah, Gaza, and the other from Kyiv, Ukraine. Though thousands of miles apart, their stories intersect in a shared experience of war, displacement, and the fragile hope that follows. On the day everything changed, both children were doing ordinary things - playing, going to school, being children. Then came the war. Through their words, we witness what it felt like in those moments: the sounds, the confusion, the fear, and the decision to leave. Each child recounts the day they crossed a border, leaving behind their homes. Through the eyes of these two children, we see not only what was lost, but also what survives: imagination, strength, and the universal wish for peace and belonging.
