SYNOPSIS

Since Ola fled Eastern Europe with her family, her son has been struggling with (war) trauma. When he ends up in intensive care after an accident and memories of his childhood start to impose themselves more and more on Ola, she also has to face her demons. FUGUE is about an Eastern European family fleeing war, but although it refers to the war that is taking place right now on the Eastern border of Europe, it is not a 1:1 realistic or historically correct film. Unfortunately, war is a universal theme and we wanted to tell a story about a family impacted by it for almost a decade. Our film could just as well have been set in another Eastern European country. Or in Asia. Or in the Middle East.
