Billy and Billie meet at the saloon. She chases cigarettes as if her life depended on it. He eats everything he can get his hands on, gnawed by an illness no one seems to be able to name. In this smoke-filled, absurd in camera setting, the tension mounts... slowly. Billie tries to comfort Billy, or to make him feel worse, it's hard to say. The silences are long, the false connections glaring, the glances lost in the void. We think we're on the verge of drama. But we're slowly slipping into a completely different territory: that of the absurd. Billy's is a Western without a duel, a face-off with no apparent stakes, a comedy where even the emotion seems to have taken a smoke break.
