"The Lost Path of Pig Castration" tells the story of Gao Chen, who returns to the fishing village from the city. He was once caught in a quagmire of confusion and struggle during his urban life. After returning to the fishing village, faced with his father's incomprehension and his own bewilderment about the future, Gao Chen is torn apart by inner conflicts. A series of surreal scenes, such as the peculiar red pig described by the old captain and the mysterious deep pit by the seaside, constantly shatter Gao Chen's perception. At night, the crowd dressed in Qiong Opera costumes, the blazing flames, and the motionless lion dance that seems to be in a trance create a fantastical and eerie atmosphere. Caught in the interweaving of reality and illusion, Gao Chen attempts to find the answers deep within his heart but gradually loses his way. When he wakes up from his strange experiences, the image of the fishing boats drifting away outside the window symbolizes the unknown and confusion. It also implies that his exploration of life and self continues, vividly presenting the perplexities and struggles of contemporary people between their ideals and reality.
