SYNOPSIS
(Password for both the full film and the trailer: EP2025) In a darkened theatre, strange and splendid costumes drape the body of actress Tilda Swinton. As she moves across the stage, striking new poses, the ancient spirits sleeping in the fabric are quietly summoned, one by one. These were once cinema costumes—created in the 1960s by legendary Italian director Pier Paolo Pasolini and Oscar-winning costume designer Danilo Donati. After the films ended, the garments lay dormant in boxes for fifty years—until fashion historian Olivier Saillard and Tilda Swinton brought them back to life under the spotlight of Embodying Pasolini. This short documentary, filmed in August 2024, captures the Asian premiere of Embodying Pasolini in Taipei. Through Olivier and Tilda’s vision, we are invited to enter, once more, the spiritual world of Pasolini.
