SYNOPSIS

“Papa’s Song” is a dreamlike short film inspired by Ukrainian singer-songwriter SUNSAY’s personal relationship with his father. Told through the poetic contrast of light and shadow, this arthouse piece is set against the romantic nostalgia of 1970s interiors and the elegance of European Art Nouveau architecture. The film follows a boy navigating the emotional scars left by his absent father. Through tender reflections and bittersweet memories, he drifts between pain, yearning, and an aching desire for connection. As he walks this path of heartache, he uncovers a profound truth—that love, even in its absence, can linger like a soft melody, and in the solitude of that emptiness, strength quietly blooms. “Papa’s Song” is a poignant ode to the fragile beauty of reconciliation, where hope finds its way through the cracks of loss.
