SYNOPSIS

Chef Emil (46) runs a high-end restaurant on the coast of the Dutch province of Zeeland. His younger kitchen staff doubt the skills and leadership of the once-famous but now fallen from fame Emil. When suddenly talented new sous chef Jort (31) is appointed unannounced and seems to fall right in with the group immediately, Emil feels his authority slipping through his fingers. Jort introduces innovative techniques and even wants to put a new dish on the table tonight. It gives new life to the team, but Emil seems to feel increasingly redundant. Driven to reassert his position as leader, Emil makes a morally dubious attempt to restore 'order' in the kitchen.
