In 2002, I met Mendé. I was 7 and he was 9, and we lived together for a few weeks at my house. He told me to come and see his home in Mongolia. 20 years later, having left my childhood home and finding myself a little lost, I decided to seize the invitation and set off in search of him. On horseback in the Mongolian steppes, DV archives of Mende and I appear as children, playing hide-and-seek once again. What place do our memories of a person take when we meet up with them again 20 years later? Are children's dreams meant to be realized by adults?
