SYNOPSIS

Amid Vancouver's drug crisis, we find two girls, one who spends every spare moment looking for her next fix and the other caught up in the clutches of increasing codependency.Chrissy and Nat do everything together: the good, the creative, the mundane and -- with doomed regularity -- drugs. Spanning 5 days we meet the two at their turning point — Nat’s near overdose, when they are forced to face themselves, each other, and the dark aspects of their relationship. What drives the story forward is essentially, where it all started--a complex web of emotional needs and the allure of easy escape. After Chrissy learns that there are no beds available at the detox center she is left alone to care for Nat. The two are pushed through an overloaded system that neither was expecting. And with the highs and lows of addiction interwoven into the very love that inspired their friendship, we gradually begin to question Chrissy’s motives. When their friendship itself becomes an addiction, paranoia and obsession begin to control Chrissy’s life, leaving her with a paralyzing dilemma— whether or not to stand by her best friend.
