SYNOPSIS

Amid the 1965-66 Indonesian political crisis, Gerwani activist Merah Muda narrowly escapes death and flees to the Netherlands. Decades later, her granddaughter Ria Bloem discovers photos of Merah with a cherished seashell that has vanished. Ria's quest to find the missing object unveils long-held family secrets and illuminates post-colonial history.
