SYNOPSIS

Banished from a land they had lived in for centuries, my great-grandparents became exchanged in 1923, when Orthodox people were ordered to live in a new homeland, Greece, filling the houses from which Muslims were expelled off to Turkey. A hundred years went by before I decided to make the return journey and try to understand their story and those of millions more.
