SYNOPSIS

FIREWORKS raises questions on the nature of empathy. As the citizens of Berlin celebrate New Year’s Eve, the sounds of fireworks fill the city. However, fireworks are also one of the worst triggers of trauma for people fleeing war. Through the documentation of political activism and private moments, we ponder: Can one ever understand another's tragedy?
