SYNOPSIS

Young Melina lives in Iran with her grandparents. Her parents are divorced and neither is willing to take her in. Melina would like to live with her mother, but her father and stepfather protest. When Melina turns 9 years old, she is old enough in Iran to start a custody process in court. She hopes this will allow her to choose who she wants to live with. Unfortunately, Melina is confronted with the complexities of the adult world all too soon...
