SYNOPSIS
Zehava was born in the occupied West Bank and fled to Israel at the age of 19. In the West Bank, she was persecuted for being transgender; she survived sex trafficking as well as a murder attempt within her family. In Israel, she was persecuted for being Palestinian, resulting in twelve imprisonments and fear of deportation. Palestinians don’t have access to the asylum system in Israel.
