SYNOPSIS

Rogelio, a peasant from Mexico’s Jalisco Highlands, goes through the painful abandonment of his wife, while raising his deaf son, Roy. When the boy finds out that her mother was seen in a nearby town, he insists on winning the race of the patron saint festivities to bring her back home. Rogelio keeps a secret from his son to protect him, however, his intention leads to terrible consequences.
