SYNOPSIS

Grown up in New Zealand and secretly in love with her girlfriend Aroha, Zahra refuses the arranged marriage forced upon her by her Muslim-Iranian parents. Enraged by this act of rebellion, her father hits her. To escape him, she calls Aroha who arrives with her mother. Zahra begs her mother Sedigheh to join them, to no avail. Devastated, she turns to leave when Sedigheh shocks her with a blessing.
