SYNOPSIS

A widowed, bankrupt farmer is harassed by crooked creditors. Cornered, he steals a large amount of money from them to offer his daughter a future that he can no longer guarantee himself. Knowing that the underworld will take revenge, the farmer takes refuge in his beliefs and invokes the Ankou, the servant of Death in Brittany, to offer him his life in exchange for protection for his daughter.
