SYNOPSIS
“Hawfwen,” a traditional gathering where the Zhuang people (an ethnic minority) sing folk songs, is losing its popularity. It often takes place around the clan temples or under the old village trees, where singers are divided into male and female groups, who improvise their lyrics to sing in correspondence with one another.
