SYNOPSIS
In Brazil, from the 17th century to the mid-19th century, works of art depicting enslaved people in beautiful landscapes were created, thus conveying the Eurocentric perception of slavery as an exotic and even beautiful world to enjoy. What is behind the beauty of the painting "Cassava Mill", by Spanish artist Modesto Brocos, is shown through the narrative of one of the women portrayed in this painting.
