SYNOPSIS
In 1884 Paul Gottlieb Nipkow invented the Nipkow disc: a metal disc with holes that, when turned, receives part of the light reflected by a "filmed" scene. This invention can be considered as the grandfather of all image capture systems, and besides, it was made by my great-uncle.
