SYNOPSIS

Filmed in the mountainous region of Guizhou, China, WHITE JOY begins with a traditional funeral banquet, followed by a procession and a burial in a Dong ethnic minority village. Scenes from ordinary daily life slowly unfold: men or women, elders or youngsters, humans or animals; all have their own roles in the village, in accordance with the cycle of life.
