SYNOPSIS

This film revisits German art titan Joseph Beuys’ "I like America and America likes me" performance: an iconic but also problematic moment in the annals of contemporary art and culture. Over the course of a day, a collaboration with a canine companion, poetry, play and interspecies communication were filmed, reconsidering this iconic work through a feminist prism, and recognizing animal personhood.
