SYNOPSIS

We started our walk at an altitude of 3900 metres. Oxygen becomes rarer at an exponential rate when climbing. With less of it in our body, we use compensation mechanisms. When these fail, we feel altitude sickness. Possible symptoms are headache, confusion and sensory illusions.
