SYNOPSIS

Texas, 1861. Sophie, a widow with a good heart, her 8-year-old son Charlie and Ingrid, a German outsider, receive a surprise visit from the sheriff. He is still persistently investigating the murder of Ingrid's husband and considers Ingrid a suspect. But the truth is much more complicated, and the women will stop at nothing to protect their secret.
