SYNOPSIS

May 24, 1920 at 1 a.m., in the forest of Montargis. Mr. Rafeau, a grade-crossing keeper, has had too many misfortunes in his life to believe that he has before him Mr. Paul Deschanel, President of the Republic, who is in trouble politically, and on that day, in his pajamas... Taking him for a poor wretch, he takes him in for 3 days at home... 3 days during which France no longer has a President...
