SYNOPSIS

SAFE HAVEN explores mental illness in communities of color through a complex mother-daughter relationship tested by future academic pursuits. When Maria discovers that Amelia has been accepted to college, she hides the news from her daughter, culminating in a deeply rooted conflict between them.
