SYNOPSIS

Sierra Maestra, Cuba. Maria Consuelo and her daughter Maria Antonia care for three elderly women. They also care for the older sister who suffers from mental retardation. The decision of Maria Antonia to become independent and leave the home causes a conflict between mother and daughter. It reveals feelings of dependence and guilt.
