SYNOPSIS

In Germany, Europe's biggest open-pit mine forces villages to yield and thousands of people to abandon their homes so that the digging for valuable lignite can continue. A young woman lives with her mother, amongst the last residents in one of these ghost towns. She has to defend her homeland from final extinction.
