SYNOPSIS

Summer 1983, GDR: Uwe, a parish priest from Mecklenburg, dares to openly express his ideals of freedom – increasingly jeopardizing his family and himself. As his wife breaks down under the state’s threatening pressure, Uwe has to face a conflict that will turn out to be a crucial test for the whole family.
