SYNOPSIS

In 1941, on one of the Balearic Islands, a group of five soldiers scours the coast for Communist partisans. Along the way, they make the preposterous discovery that the Mediterranean is receding! Four of them decide to head off toward the sea, which is now half a mile away. When they arrive, the sea has vanished.
