The film denounces an unjust attitude -a form of racialism- in Spain against the Gypsy people. This goes back to the time of the Catholic Sovereigns, in the 15th century, when, at Medina del Campo, they issued a harsh decree for the annihilation of the Gypsies. As a result of that law and of many which followed, the Gypsy people have had to bear segregation, oppression and helplessness to this day.
