BIOGRAPHIE

Thee Khanthavit a animation director based in Bangkok, Thailand. He received Master degree of Fine Arts from The Faculty of Painting Sculpture and Graphic Art, Silpakorn University (2006). During his study Thee participated in various group art exhibitions such as “Here & Now” contemporary art exhibition by Thai Artists, Bangkok (2004), 10th International Contemporary Art Competition OSAKA TRIENNALE, Osaka (2001), “EURO vision” Thai - European Contemporary Art Exhibition, Bangkok (2000) and “Sony’s Heart Young Artist Online” Sony young artist online competition, Berlin (2000). Khanthavit worked as Graphic Designer and Creative Director in fashion magazines at ELLE and CLEO in Bangkok (2003-2016). Since 2013 he co-founded 9TSTORE in Bangkok where he starts to create the cartoon characters and product design. In 2018, he produces “KO Scotty” his first animation short film won BEST ANIMATION FILM at the Nadym International Film Festival, Russia (2019) and screened at festivals around the world, such as Nadym, Middlebury, Anibar and GLAS. Khanthavit ’s second animated short film, Mara, Tank the dog and chicken legs received Honorable Mention at Rolling Ideas, Romania (2021). It has been screened at festivals such as Short to the Point International Short Film Festival, Romania, Feel The Reel, United Kingdom and Anibar International Animation Festival, Kosovo Along with making his own film, he also is the director of animation series about health literacy for kids, Phymon doctor of monster. The characters and contents received Best New Comer Award and Best E-learning Award from Bangkok International Digital Content Festival (BIDC) 2023-2024. His next project, the animation short film about imagination and collaboration for children received funding from Thai Media Fund and Thai Film Archive (TFA) will be launched in 2025.
