Since he was a child, Luis has been interested in visual arts, especially comic books. He read comics before he learned to read, you could say. This led him to study drawing and comic books as a child and until adolescence, but it was in cinema that he found his passion. He graduated in Cinema from FAAP and, while still in college, began working in the audiovisual market. He worked in production at 02 Filmes, in post-production and editing assistance at Gullane Filmes and, for more than 8 years, he worked as an assistant director and creative assistant in several advertising films for several Brazilian producers (Sentimental, Vetor Zero, Cia de Cinema, Saigon) and international (Frenzy Paris, Somesuch & Co UK, Hamlet Berlin and Think Cattleya Italia). Over time, he began directing second unit and digital films, where he made several advertising films. In 2019, he formed the duo LUMO with director Moira Soares. He is also a screenwriter and writer. In cinema, his main references include Expressionism, the cinema of F. W. Murnau, Fritz Lang, David Fincher, Alan J. Pakula and Orson Welles. Dark themes, with a strong psychological charge and high contrast visuals. In Brazil, his heroes are José Mojica Marins, Joaquim Pedro de Andrade, Rogério Sganzerla, Ivan Cardoso and Andrea Tonacci.
