Erik Jasaň is a Slovak director, screenwriter, and producer whose work focuses on sensitive social issues affecting eastern Slovakia, where he comes from. His debut short film The Professional Parent was Oscar-qualified in the category Best Live Action Short Film. The film was selected for official programs at festivals such as TIFF – Tirana International Film Festival, Balinale – Bali International Film Festival, HollyShorts Film Festival, and St Kilda Film Festival, as well as festivals in Odense, Huesca, Alexandria, and Lebu, and it received the award for Best International Film at the New York Shorts International Film Festival. His latest project, Three Burned Bodies, won the main prize at the Pitching Forum of the 21st edition of FEST – New Directors/New Film Festival in Espinho, Portugal.
