Max Delfino is an award-winning filmmaker born in Rome (Italy), and currently professor at Northwestern University (Chicago, USA). His first short film titled In fondo alle scale (2011) won the silver prize at SAS Rome. He studied filmmaking in Rome (Scuola di cinema di Roma) and in Los Angeles at USC-School of Cinematic Arts (2022), and received a PhD in Italian Studies with a concentration in Italian cinema from Columbia University (NY) in 2020. He is also a published and prize-winning poet. As an academic, he studies Italian political cinema of the 1960s and 70s, and his research has appeared in European and American academic journals. In his current film projects, he focuses on the impact of new technologies on modes of subjectivity, identity and self-affirmation within the structures and strictures of global capitalism.
